A l’image de Savages, les membres de Pumarosa semblent être tombés bien tôt dans la marmite eighties de la new wave voire du post-punk. Mais comme la bande d’Isabel Muñoz-Newsome vit dans les années 2010, cet héritage n’est qu’une influence – certes majeure – parmi d’autres. De cette décennie, Pumarosa a gardé cet alliage entre le sombre et le lyrique qu’il trempe dans des sonorités plus contemporaines. Il y a du Siouxsie, du Kate Bush et du Patti Smith dans le charisme de Muñoz-Newsome.
