Faces B, raretés et prises alternatives piochées dans des singles, des compilations, des BO de films et des collectors, la belle brochette assemblée ici par Broken Social Scene souligne l’importance du groupe de Toronto et son originalité. En 20 ans de carrière, le gang canadien à géométrie variable (sur scène, on est parfois proche d’un casting de fanfare XXL) a tissé une fascinante toile mêlant post-rock, folk débridé, synth pop, punk funk, country rock et bon vieux rock indé des familles. Une liberté de ton et une quête permanente des itinéraires bis des plus réjouissantes qui transpirent tout au long d’Old Dead Young: B-Sides & Rarities.
