P Love
P-Love is a Montreal-based turntablist and also a producer, although his productions don't fit within hip-hop as well as the indie-electronic preserve of artists such as Caribou, Fog, and Greg Davis. Born in the Philippines but raised in New York, Paolo Kapunan was trained on piano and trumpet while young. He studied trumpet at McGill University in Montreal, but became fascinated with the instrumental capabilities of the turntable and stayed in town to work within the city's fertile electronic scene. He accompanied Kid Koala on the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome tour, and began producing his own work, which appeared on a succession of 7" singles. His debut album, All Up in Your Mind, appeared on the Bully label in 2005 and earned distribution through Ninja Tune.
