Marshall Hain

This UK pop duo comprised keyboard player and songwriter Julian Marshall (b. 16 March 1954, Exeter, Devon, England), and songwriter vocalist Kit Hain (b. 15 December 1956, Cobham, Surrey, England), who enjoyed a hit in 1979 with the memorable ‘Dancing In The City’. The equally smooth and emotional follow-up ‘Coming Home’ was also a minor hit. Their only album enlisted the credible support of Frank Ricotti (b. 31 January 1949, London, England; percussion), Dave Olney (guitar), Martin Ditcham (b. 22 February 1951, Ilford, Essex, England; percussion), Harold Fisher (drums) and Glen Nightingale (guitar). However, as their grip on the pop charts slackened Marshall found the pressure of success too much and left the band. Having the co-leader leave resulted in the second album being cancelled. Marshall then played piano for the Flying Lizards. Following the break-up of their personal relationship his partner Kit Hain embarked on a solo career and relocated to the USA where she has found success as a songwriter.
