Lynn Patrick

Florida-born, Boulder, Colorado-based Lynn Patrick is an award-winning acoustic guitarist, composer, and record producer. Since releasing Natural Voice Inside, her 1994 vocal debut, she's been mining a deep vein, seamlessly melding folk, jazz, country, bluegrass flatpicking, and new age in original compositions that defy categorization. Whether recording solo, with her guitar trio, or various chamber ensembles, her emotionally resonant music has been used extensively in television, radio, and film. 1998's Winnie's Guitar showcased her dazzling instrumental prowess, a direction she's pursued in widening stylistic circles ever since. 2004's When She Dreams won accolades in print, while 2008's On the Wind drew attention from NPR and, along with its predecessor, took home an Independent Music Award. Patrick records only when she has something new to say, but she performs hundreds of times in a calendar year. 2012's Fire Mountain drew international notice, resulting in Patrick being commissioned to contribute original music to the score for Barbara Kopple's documentary film Running from Crazy, about the journey of actress Mariel Hemingway. In 2016 and 2017, she contributed songs to accompany the soap opera The Young and the Restless. The guitarist's lush, award-winning Strawberry Boat followed in 2019.
