Cassidy Mann
Cassidy Mann is a Canadian singer/songwriter whose wistful and relatable songs combine serene electronic textures and acoustic guitar with poetic lyrics about relationships' highs, lows, and in-betweens. A native of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Mann spent her formative years learning to play guitar and writing songs influenced by the rich oral storytelling tradition in her family's Indigenous community of Sagkeeng First Nation. At 14, she was nominated for Aboriginal Recording of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards. After relocating to Toronto following a breakup, Mann began recording demos. Looking to have more control over her artistic vision in the studio, she immersed herself in production techniques, and with help from friend and producer Roman Clarke, she settled on a sound that embraced both electronic pop and her acoustic roots. The fruits of those labors, which included the streaming hits "Tropical Sour Candy" and "Election Night," appeared on her 2022 debut EP, If It's Not Forever.
