No Trigger

No Trigger rose out of Worcester, Massachusetts in the mid-2000s with a straight-ahead, melodic hardcore punk sound and some forward momentum accrued from a pair of self-released demos. 2006's Canyoneer, their full-length debut, helped push them onto the international stage ahead of their widely spaced follow-ups Tycoon (2012) and Dr. Album (2022). Formed in 2001, the original line-up of singer Tom Rheault, guitarists Mike Pryzgoda and Jon Strader, drummer Mike Ciprari, and bassist Tom Ciesluk self-released a 2003 demo EP, The World Is Not a Stage, in 2003. A split with Rhode Island's Wasteland followed the next year, and Japanese imprint Big Mouth Records later combined and remastered both releases into the 2005 EP Extinction in Stereo. Falling into the hardcore ranks beside Strike Anywhere and Rise Against, No Trigger signed to Nitro Records, which released their 2006 debut album Canyoneer. After a period of heavy international touring that included dates in Japan, South America, Europe, and Australia, the band remained relatively quiet until 2010's Be Honest EP. Two years later they reappeared on the No Sleep label with their Jay Maas (Defeater)-produced sophomore album, Tycoon. Although No Trigger continued to tour, another five-year gap passed before the release of 2017's Adult Braces EP. Eventually they inked a deal with the Red Scare label and adjusted their line-up. Jono Diener replaced Ciprari on drums and Ciesluk moved over to guitar and keyboard to make room for incoming bassist Brad Rheault. In 2022, Red Scare released Dr. Album, No Trigger's third album and first full-length in ten years.
