Les Noisettes défient les attentes avec leur premier opus, What's the Time Mr. Wolf?, mélangeant funk et folk, garage rock et gospel, et punk et pop. Ils défient encore les attentes sur Wild Young Hearts, un recueil de chansons bien plus polies et cohérentes que l'album précédent. "Sometimes", un joli titre jazz-pop acoustique, et la disco-pop voyante de "Don't Upset the Rhythm" réaffirment que Shingai Shoniwa assure dans presque n'importe quel style de musique. Le reste, la souplesse écervelée, spirituelle du titre éponyme rappelle autant Lily Allen qu'une mélodie pop classique des années 60 ; "24 Hours" salue le revival de new wave brillante de Santogold ; et l'envolée touchante de "Never Forget You" évoque Amy Winehouse.
