Bien que ce ne soit pas tout à fait faux, ce serait une terrible erreur de réduire Never Mind the Bollocks à une série de rocks midtempo dépenaillés bruyants, dépourvus de mélodie et interprétés par un chanteur strident et discordant. Des chansons déjà emblématiques deviennent éminentes grâce au débit enragé et écumant de Johnny Rotten. Ses attaques amèrement sarcastiques sur l'affectation prétentieuse et les fondements mêmes de la société britannique sont portées de la manière la plus provocatrice et grossière possible. La plupart des imitateurs du nihilisme enragé des Sex pistols étaient à côté de la plaque : derrière la tactique provocatrice et le pessimisme théâtral, les critiques sociales étaient conçues avec le plus grand soin pour avoir un maximum d'impact. Never Mind the Bollocks a parfaitement articulé la frustration, la rage et l'insatisfaction des classes ouvrières britanniques envers l'Establishment, un état d'esprit qui a rapidement investi la terminologie rock'n roll.

Chronique

Bien que ce ne soit pas tout à fait faux, ce serait une terrible erreur de réduire Never Mind the Bollocks à une série de rocks midtempo dépenaillés bruyants, dépourvus de mélodie et interprétés par un chanteur strident et discordant. Des chansons déjà emblématiques deviennent éminentes grâce au débit enragé et écumant de Johnny Rotten. Ses attaques amèrement sarcastiques sur l'affectation prétentieuse et les fondements mêmes de la société britannique sont portées de la manière la plus provocatrice et grossière possible. La plupart des imitateurs du nihilisme enragé des Sex pistols étaient à côté de la plaque : derrière la tactique provocatrice et le pessimisme théâtral, les critiques sociales étaient conçues avec le plus grand soin pour avoir un maximum d'impact. Never Mind the Bollocks a parfaitement articulé la frustration, la rage et l'insatisfaction des classes ouvrières britanniques envers l'Establishment, un état d'esprit qui a rapidement investi la terminologie rock'n roll.
