Le terme "free" (libre) du titre du quatrième album de Joss Stone fait apparemment référence au départ de la chanteuse néo-soul du label EMI qui n'avait pas laissé Joss être elle-même. On oublie bien vite le fait que la diva tape à l'œil légèrement mégalo avait exactement le même argument pour la sortie de son album de 2007, Introducing Joss Stone, pour révéler la "vraie" chanteuse, comme on oublie vite le RnB moderne de cette métamorphose, car cet album dégage bien l'ambiance soul de ses deux premiers albums. Sa puissance vocale est toujours aussi impressionnante, de même que ses goûts en matière de soul, tout cela battant dans un cœur humain confus.
