Patrick Ingunza is a Peruvian singer-songwriter, mostly known for a series of high-profile collaborations with a wide array of Latin pop stars. Ingunza left his native Peru when he was just 16 years old to pursue a songwriting career in Miami. After working odd jobs and penning several minor hits for Venezuelan artists, he rose to fame in 2016 when Spanish pop star Enrique Iglesias decided to record his song “Duele El Corazón.” The track reached Number 1 in twelve Latin American countries and topped Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart. The next year, he co-wrote the urbano smash hit “Mayores,” performed by pop singer Becky G and Puertorrican rapper Bad Bunny. The single peaked at Number 3 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Song chart and was certified gold in the US 21 times. In 2018, he worked with Mexican diva Thalia and Argentine singer Lali on the reggaeton-friendly “Lindo Pero Bruto,” which was named by Billboard as one of the best all-female collaborations in Latin music. Ingunza released his first solo single in 2019, entitled “Cerquita de Mí,” an infectious track that combines Peruvian cumbia influences with Latin pop music. Shortly after, a remix of the song came out featuring Peruvian pop singer Leslie Shaw.
