Le premier album de Jake et Elwood Blues est un formidable brulôt de Soul et de Rhythm ‘n’ Blues, justement plébiscité par le public américain au tout début de l’année 1980, s’imposant totalement à l’époque à contre courant des styles musicaux en vogue.



Le premier album n°1 de la décennie aux Etats-Unis n’a pas pris une ride. L’orchestre exceptionnel et le choix judicieux du répertoire des duettistes imperturbables rend cet album capturé en public un joyau du genre. Les titres ont été longuement rôdés en concert, telle la reprise inspirée de Sam & Dave « Soul Man ». La pochette est signée par l’épouse de Belushi, Judith Jacklin, qui publiera une biographie de son mari en 1990 : Samurai Widow.
