The Tenors

A Juno Award-winning classical pop vocal quartet, the Tenors feature the talents of Victor Micallef, Clifton Murray, Alberto Urso, and Mark Masri. Formed in Canada in 2004, the group plays a mix of opera, classical standards, reworked pop songs, and original material. The Tenors have performed across North America and Europe, appearing alongside some of the biggest names in popular and classical music -- from Sheryl Crow to Andrea Bocelli -- and have released the multi-platinum-selling albums The Canadian Tenors (2008), The Perfect Gift (2009), and Lead with Your Heart (2012). The long-running group released their third holiday effort, Christmas with the Tenors, in 2023. Since the Three Tenors first became superstars in the early '90s, a trio of tenors has become a standard vocal ensemble formation. The Tenors, however, expanded on that idea to form a quartet, originally comprised of Victor Micallef, Clifton Murray, Remigio Pereira, and Fraser Walters. The quartet's 2008 debut album quickly became a best-seller and was followed in 2009 by a holiday album, The Perfect Gift, which also went gold. In 2012, they released Lead with Your Heart, which featured the single "I Believe" and went on to win a Juno award. All three albums are certified multi-platinum. The ensemble has performed all over North America and Europe, with some of the biggest names in both the popular and classical music arenas and before numerous heads of state. Members of the quartet wrote the eight songs included on Under One Sky, the focus of the group's largest tour to that point, covering dozens of cities in North America during the 2015-2016 season. In 2016, the group parted ways with Pereira after he sang different lyrics to the Canadian national anthem during their performance at the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. In 2017, the Tenors returned with the holiday-themed Christmas Together. 2023's Christmas with the Tenors marked the studio debuts of new members Alberto Urso and Mark Masri and included versions of Chris Rea's "Driving Home for Christmas" and Sia's "Snowman," alongside holiday classics like "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "Jingle Bell Rock."
