Taylor

Originating from a classically trained music background that also included some time spent as a jazz drummer, Taylor spent the 1990s increasing his profile as one of America's leading trance DJs, a status that has been largely shaped by the success of the track "Anomaly (Calling Your Name)." At the tender age of 20, the West Coast DJ/producer moved from a small town in Washington State to Los Angeles. There he instantly discovered the city's thriving club scene, resulting in his further commitment to the DJ profession. By 1993, he had secured a residency at Metropolis in nearby Irvine, CA, where he spun for an amazing stint of five years, becoming progressively interested in the exploding sounds of trance. In 1998 he took his career even further with a position as a DJ on Los Angeles' Groove Radio and also as the opening DJ on Crystal Method's U.S. tour. Of the several tracks produced by Taylor over the years, his 1995 collaboration with BT, "Anomaly (Calling Your Name)," continues to exist as a prime fixture in the trance community as illustrated on Sasha's 1999 Global Underground: San Francisco album, where the superstar DJ concludes his first set with Albion's remix of the track. Yet even when the unprecedented success of this track almost seems to eclipse Taylor's DJing career, an increased interest in American trance has enabled him to further his career, as evident on his Trance Nation America album from mid-2000.
