Sung Si Kyung

Known for his silky-smooth, romantic brand of K-pop, South Korean singer and TV presenter Sung Si-kyung (April 17, 1979) rose to fame after winning an online singing competition while studying at Korea University. “The Road That Leads to Me,” his debut single, was included in a compilation in late 2000 and became a massive domestic hit, turning him into a star almost overnight. The track was also included in his ballad-heavy first full-length Like the First Time, which entered the Top 10 of the Gaon charts and earned him numerous accolades upon its release in 2001. He continued his winning streak with the incredibly popular albums Melodie D'Amour (2002), Double Life; The Other Side (2003), I Want to Dream Again (2005), and The Ballads (2006), all of which fell just short of reaching Number 1 in his native South Korea. Following the release of Here In My Heart in 2008, Sung Si-kyung enlisted in mandatory military service and was discharged in 2010. A year later, he came back in full force with his seventh studio effort The First, which achieved pole position on the Gaon Albums Chart thanks to the Top 5 singles “It’s You” and “Even Now.” In 2014, Sung Si-kyung scored another hit with the track “Every Moment of You,” which went to Number 2 in South Korea thanks to its inclusion in the soundtrack of the romantic comedy series My Love from the Star. After a successful foray into the highly competitive Japanese market with the albums Drama (2017) and You Are Here (2018), the singer returned to the South Korean charts with his eighth full-length Si Ok in 2021.
