Jan Tomasz Adamus

Polish conductor and organist Jan Tomasz Adamus is an early music specialist, especially noted for his performances of sacred music. He studied at the Academy of Music in Kraków and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, and became a lecturer at the Academy of Music in Wrocław. Adamus was also a guest lecturer at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria. He became active as a conductor at early music festivals, notably serving as artistic director of the Forum Musicum in Wroclaw, and the International Bach Festival in Swidnica. Since 2008, Adamus has served as the artistic director of the period ensemble Capella Cracoviensis, which performs repertoire from the Renaissance to contemporary works. Together, they recorded Pergolesi's Adriano in Siria and Porpora's Germanico in Germania for Decca, and Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2 and Schubert's "Unfinished" Symphony for CAvi-music.
