Jade The Moon

The fractured alt-pop of Jade the Moon teams artist/songwriter Jade Moon with producers Bad Cop Mean Cop, who incorporate electronic and acoustic timbres, distorted samples, and delay into their intimate creations. The Canadian trio made its full-length debut in 2015 with Habits and Hindrance. In 2014, Toronto-based artist Jade Moon began writing short stories about relationships and their related emotions, soon deciding to turn them into songs. Originally not intended for a public audience, the involvement of the music production duo Bad Cop Mean Cop gave the vignettes a fresh purpose. Their first album, Habits and Hindrance, arrived via Culvert Music in 2015 with soft-voiced Moon on lead vocals. They returned with the low-key "Hotels" in 2017 before releasing the more effervescent dance-pop of "The Tide" in 2018.
