Delacey

Distinguished by her smoky vocals and yearning relationship musings, Delacey makes earnest, atmospheric pop as soloist. Her voice led to feature spots on EDM tracks by the likes of the Knocks and Alex Midi before she made her solo debut with the seductive "My Man" in 2019. It hit the Top 40 of Billboard's Pop Airplay chart. In the meantime, she established a résumé as a contributing songwriter for acts including the Chainsmokers, Zara Larsson, and Halsey, including the latter's chart-topping single "Without Me." Featuring the viral hit "Cruel Intentions," her full-length debut, Black Coffee, appeared in 2020. She maintained a presence with a series of singles over the next few years, including 2021's "Boy with the Blues" and 2023's "Man on the Moon," while writing songs for the likes of Justin Bieber and Anne-Marie. Born and raised in Orange County, California, Brittany Amaradio began singing and playing piano and guitar at a young age. After finishing high school, she briefly moved to Manhattan, where she wrote the song "New York City" the day before quitting her job and deciding to move back to the West Coast. After settling in Los Angeles, she signed a publishing deal with Universal, and "New York City" was brought to the attention of the Chainsmokers. The duo recorded the song for their 2015 EP Bouquet. Amaradio focused on songwriting for the next three years, although after adopting the pseudonym Delacey, she was featured on the minor 2016 dance hit "In the Air Tonight," a cover of the Phil Collins tune by Alex Midi. That year, her voice could also be heard on the song "Dream It Impossible," which was featured in an international smartphone campaign. Delacey went on to co-write songs for artists including, but not limited to, Demi Lovato, Sabrina Carpenter, and Lost Kings, and 2018 saw the release of the Delacey co-penned single "Without Me" by Halsey. A worldwide hit, it went all the way to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 2019. Just a few weeks later, Delacey's writing could be heard on another Hot 100 single, Zara Larsson's "Ruin My Life." In the meantime, Delacey signed with HITCO and released her official debut single, "My Man," in March 2019. The song landed in the Top 40 of both the Pop Airplay and Adult Pop Airplay charts, peaking at number 33 on the latter. A string of additional singles appeared throughout the year as she readied her full-length debut. Buoyed by the hit single "Cruel Intentions," Delacey's first album, Black Coffee, appeared in March 2020. Meanwhile, she continued to co-write songs for other artists, including Justin Bieber ("Unstable"), Chelsea Cutler ("When I Close My Eyes"), Anne-Marie (several including "To Be Young" featuring Doja Cat), and Dove Cameron (the international hit "Boyfriend"). Her own output included 2021's "Boy with the Blues"; 2022's acoustic "Manly Man, a duet with Emily Weisband, and the next year's "Man on the Moon," which she wrote and produced with Ido Zmishlany (Last Week).
