Alexander Malter

Alexander Malter is a classical pianist from Moscow known best for his recordings of 'Für Alina' and 'Spiegel Im Spiegel' by the Estonian composer Arvo Pärt. 'Für Alina', lauded for its mellow loveliness in the tintinnabuli style, can be heard on the soundtracks of Tom Tykwer's 2002 feature film 'Heaven', Cédric Kahn's 'Red Lights' from 2004, François Ozon's 'Time to Leave' and Christian Frei's documentary 'The Giant Buddhas' from 2005 and Bennett Miller's 'Foxcatcher' from 2014. 'Spiegel Im Spiegel' is on the soundtracks of Ruba Nadda's 'Inescapable' ftom 2012 and Richard Curtis's 'About Time' from 2013. They are both on the album 'Arvo Pärt: Alina' which went to number 19 on Billboard's Classical Albums Chart in 2000. His 2018 dates were to include appearances in Berlin with violinist Susanne Herzog playing sonatas for violin and piano by Mozart, Grieg and others and solo appearances in Berlin playing works for piano by Bach, Busony and Debussy.
