E’ il quarto album del gruppo pop-rock capitanato dall’ex-beatle Paul McCartney, uscito nel maggio 1975 su etichetta Apple Records (la casa discografica fondata dai Beatles nel 1968) e distribuito da Capitol. Esce circa due anni dopo il grandissimo successo di “Band on the run” , che con la title track e “Jet” aveva scalato tutte le classifiche di vendita. Ad anticipare il disco e’ il singolo “Listen to what the man said” e diventano singoli anche la title track, “Rock show” e “Letting go”, che spingono l’album in vetta alle charts inglesi e americane, anche se il disco non viene molto apprezzato dalla critica che lo definisce troppo auto compiacente e commerciale. Subito dopo la pubblicazione dell’album McCartney insieme alla moglie Linda e alla band danno inizio a un lungo tour mondiale.
