Produttrice e DJ londinese il cui nome ‒ e quello del duo She Is Danger con Lena Cullen, che ha fatto, tra l’altro, dei remix per Gorillaz e Massive Attack ‒ si è subito imposto sulla scena house e deep house, Maya Jane Coles stavolta fa le cose in grande con questo doppio album! A tre anni dall'uscita di Comfort, il suo primo lavoro apparso tra due impeccabili mix (un DJ-Kicks nel 2012 e un Fabric nel 2014), ci consegna una sfilza di oltre venti tracce disposte in modo tale da assomigliare tutto sommato a un altro mix. All'inizio piuttosto ambient e sorprendentemente trip hop, Take Flight evolve progressivamente verso la deep house, la dub e persino la new wave. A volte, offre addirittura delle impennate anni ’90 alquanto incredibili. È soprattutto quando si lascia andare a formati più pop e meno electro che Maya Jane Coles mostra il potenziale del suo progresso.
