This is an album for those who love ballads, especially Irish ballads. A Celtic through and through, Brigid Mae Power enchants us with her country/folk songs and distinctive vocals. Between the voice meditation and the melancholy, this third album has a certain maturity and the vocals are accompanied by traditional Irish instruments as well as an Irish adaptation of the Greek bouzouki that dances around the melody. Like a journey through time, tracks like I Was Named After You transport us far away from these troubling times to a distant, unspecified and mysterious era.
