Nel 1989 Paul McCartney pubblica Flowers in the Dirt: ventunesimo disco solista realizzato insieme ad artisti come Elvis Costello -- per l’occasione anche produttore --, David Gilmour dei Pink Floyd e il pianista inglese Nicky Hopkins. L’album, trainato dal fortunato singolo “My Brave Face”, scala le classifiche di vendita britanniche e diventa uno dei progetti più riusciti dell’ex Beatles. A marzo 2017 Flowers in the Dirt torna ai fan in versione speciale, composta di due CD e arricchita da demo inedite.
