Dopo quattro anni in giro per il mondo, Guy e Howard Lawrence, i due fratelli britannici dietro il moniker Disclosure, sono tornati in studio. E sono stati produttivi, dato che hanno composto circa 200 brani! Dopo un’accurata selezione, hanno prodotto Energy, il loro terzo album (successore di Caracal nel 2015), con 11 brani e un cast da sogno, dominato da rapper e artisti del Mali, e come sempre, una dimestichezza nel ritrovare l’atmosfera del passato. Kelis apre le danze con una traccia molto simile ai Neptunes periodo 2000, Watch Your Step, una perfetta hit FM, prima di passare al duo dei rapper Aminé e slowthai, che si scatenano in un gioioso break beat con My High, mentre il rapper di Chicago Mick Jenkins - rivelazione dello scorso decennio - imposta il suo flow su un ritmo più morbido (su Who Knew?). Last but not least, Common, una “fantasia” per i fratelli Lawrence, mette la sua firma su Rêverie, un brano perfettamente all’altezza del suo nome. Il grande successo dell’album, però, va alla cantante del Mali Fatoumata Diawara, con la quale avevano già collaborato nel 2018 al singolo Ultimatum, e perfetta su Douha (Mali Mali), in modalità deep house, segno distintivo dei Disclosure fin dal loro debutto, e che non ha perso nulla della sua efficacia. © Smaël Bouaici/Qobuz
