Todd Tilghman
Blending country, gospel, and classic rock, Todd Tilghman is a Mississippi pastor and father of eight who became an overnight sensation in 2020 after being crowned the victor of the 18th season of The Voice, becoming the oldest (age 42 at the time) winning contestant to date.
A native of Meridian, Mississippi, Tilghman became the pastor of Cornerstone Church in 2011, the same chapel where he started singing at eight years old. After marrying his high school sweetheart and having three children together, he and his wife elected to adopt a pair of sisters. By the time of Tilghman's appearance on The Voice, the couple had a total of eight children. Having served the community for nearly a decade, Tilghman sought to do something for himself and his family and auditioned for season 18 of the popular televised American singing competition. With his distinct Southern accent, easy charisma, and powerful croon, he got all four judges to turn their chairs with his performance of the Bob Seger ballad "We've Got Tonight," and joined Blake Shelton's team. Aided by well-received performances of Peter Cetera's "Glory of Love," John Mellencamp's "Authority Song," which he sang with Shelton, and the original song "Long Way Home," Tilghman stood alone in the winner's circle, becoming the program's 18th champion.
