Takako Matsu
Takako Matsu – born on June 10, 1977 in Tokyo, Japan – is an actress and J-Pop singer. Born into a family of actors, she made her stage debut at the age of 16. She made her television debut in 1994 in Hana no Ran, followed by Kura the following year. When she was 19, she released her debut single “Ashita Harugakitara”. Although she was enrolled in college, she dropped out to pursue her entertainment career. Her career picked up in 1997 with an award-winning starring role in her first movie, Tokyo Biori and the release of her platinum-selling debut album Sora No Kagami. The album earned her the Best New Artist of the Year honor at the Japan Gold Disc Awards. Takako Matsu’s career went from strength to strength, acting in a variety of television shows and films while also balancing a successful recording career. Eight of her first nine album reached the Top 10 on the Japanese charts, and two dozen of her singles have all reached the Top 40. She is also known for providing the voice of Elsa in the Japanese release of Frozen, hitting Number 2 in the Hot 100 with her Japanese-language version of the worldwide hit “Let It Go,” which remains Takato Matsu’s biggest hit single. She also provided the voice of Elsa on subsequent Frozen-related movies and shorts. She provided the theme songs to some of her popular TV series, including 2021’s Omameda Towako to Sannin no Motootto, which features the song “Presence”, which has been issued in several mixes – I, II, III, and IV - featuring guest appearances by different artists on each mix.
