LEAH KATE
An envelope-pushing social media pop artist in the vein of contemporaries like GAYLE, Madison Beer, and Olivia Rodrigo, Leah Kate became a viral sensation in 2020 with the release of the wry and explosive single "Fuck Up the Friendship." The California native issued her debut EP, Impulse, in 2019, introducing listeners to her sharp blend of 90's pop and blazing 2000s pop-punk. She crystallized that sound on 2021's aptly named What Just Happened?, which blew up on social media thanks to the expletive-strewn streaming hits "Shit Show," "F U Anthem (Fuck You Anthem)," and "Fuck Up the Friendship." Kate continued her pop ascension in 2022 with the release of the fiery, ex-dissing "10 Things I Hate About You," which marked her first Billboard chart appearance.
