Kishidan

Kishidan is a retro-minded Japanese rock band formed in Chiba in 1997. The group debuted with Bousou Yotarou Rock'n'Roll in 2000 and earned its first Top 10 hit with the single "One Night Carnival," which reached Number 7 on the Japanese charts in 2002. Often wearing outfits inspired by Japan's bōsōzoku motorcycle culture of the 1970s and 1980s, Kishidan enjoyed success not only on the Oricon charts, but also in concert, where the group's theatrical style was pushed to the forefront. While continuing to tour throughout Japan and its neighboring countries, the band released albums like Too Fast to Live Too Young to Die (2004), Six Sense (2007), Kisarazu Graffiti (2010), Furyohin (2016), and Manyoshu (2017). Meanwhile, Kishidan maintained a frequent presence on the Oricon Singles chart, too, earning 10 consecutive Top 10 hits between 2002 and 2005 before hitting another resurgence in popularity during the mid-2010s. In celebration of Kishidan's twenty-five-year anniversary, the band released THE YANK ROCK HEROES in 2023, reaching Number 20 on Japan's Oricon Albums chart.
