JUNNA

Japanese singer Junna Sakai, professionally known as JUNNA, was born on November 2, 2000, in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Even though she began singing at a very young age, her professional career didn't take off until 2016 when she made her professional debut as the singing voice of Mikumo Guynemer, a character in the anime series Macross Delta. During this time, JUNNA also became the youngest singer to debut in the franchise's history, recording her first single "Ikenai Borderline" at the age of 14. This marked the beginning of her career as a solo artist, starting with the mini-album Vai! Ya! Vai! in 2017. Her studio debut, Sai ga Utsukushi Nante, Dare ga Itta, hit the shelves in 2018, followed by a second album titled 20x20 in 2020. Over the following years, she deepened her ties to the anime industry by recording theme songs for the shows Kakegurui (2019's "Kono Yubi Tomare") and Fena: Pirate Princess (2021's "Umi to Shinju") while simultaneously advancing her own solo projects. Dear, her third studio album, came out in 2023 and climbed to Number 19 on the Japanese Top 100.
