Jerard & Jovaun
A husband-and-wife contemporary gospel duo and worship leaders, Jerard & Jovaun made their proper debut for Motown Gospel in 2019 with the EP What a Beautiful Name. The full-length No Troubled Hearts appeared in 2023.
Although Jerard and Jovaun Woods became well-known together through performances they uploaded to YouTube, they are seasoned background vocalists with dozens of live and studio sessions recorded with BeBe and CeCe Winans, Andraé Crouch, Donnie McClurkin, and Tasha Page-Lockhart, among many others. Additionally, Jerard has released an album of his own, I Waited (2007), and the couple serve as worship leaders at Bethesda Community Church in Fort Worth, Texas. The couple's online following multiplied in 2018 with a version of Hillsong's "What a Beautiful Name" that led to a recording contract with Motown Gospel. They appeared later that year on the compilation A Motown Gospel Christmas, and made their proper debut the next year with What a Beautiful Name, a five-track EP produced by Jerard with Quennel Gaskin (who'd previously worked with Juanita Bynum and Myron Williams). The duo followed up on the effort's success by releasing an eponymous EP in 2020. Three years later, Jerard & Jovaun issued their first long-player, No Troubled Hearts, which included the charting title cut.
