Hoshino Gen

Gen Hoshino is a J-pop singer and musician who first garnered attention in 2000 as a member of the Japanese instrumental band Sakerock. He released his debut solo album 'Baka No Uta' in 2010 and his first solo single 'Kudaranai No Naka Ni' (2011) went to number 17 on Japan's Oricon Singles Chart. His album 'Episode' (2011) went to number five on Japan's Oricon Albums Chart, 'Stranger' (2013) peaked at number two and 'Yellow Dancer' (2015) and 'Pop Virus' (2018) topped the chart. Other singles include 'Film' (2012) which went to number four on Japan's Oricon Singles Chart and number five on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 and 'Yume No Doto He' (2012), which reached number eight on Japan's Oricon Singles Chart and number 19 on the Japan Hot 100.

He has had a successful career as an actor with credits that include 'Nonko 36-Sai' (2008), 'Saint Young Men' (2009), 'Love & Peace' (2015) 'Night Is Short, Walk On Girl' (2017) and 'Samurai Shifters' (2019). He has appeared in several television productions including 'Detective School Q' (2007), 'Odd Family Eleven' (2011), 'The Full-Time Wife Escapist' (2016), 'Dr. Storks' (2017) and 'Idaten' (2019). He has released several concert DVDs and many music videos and performed across Japan. His 2016 single 'Koi', 'Family Song' from 2017, and 'Doraemon' and 'Idea' from 2018 all topped Japan's Oricon Singles Chart and the Japan Hot 100.
