Grace McKagan
Los Angeles' Grace McKagan led the punk-skewed synth pop group the Pink Slips before going solo with a more garage-informed blend of indie, punk, and hard rock reflected on 2020's "Surrender," her first solo single. She delivered her debut EP, the introspective Heart of Hearts, in 2022.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Grace McKagan is the daughter of Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan and model Susan Holmes. Attending live shows on an almost weekly basis by her teens, she started synth pop/punk band the Pink Slips as a teenager in 2013. They issued a debut EP, Say L'or Venus, in August 2014, following it with periodic singles before disbanding. McKagan launched her solo career with the song "Surrender" in December 2020. It leaned more heavily into garage punk influences while maintaining a contemporary, studio-fashioned indie rock sound. Released two years later to the month, her debut EP, Heart of Hearts, included "K-Town," a collaboration with Eagles of Death Metal and Boots Electric.
