Eva Under Fire

Detroit's Eva Under Fire emerged in 2015 with an accessible, hard-hitting style rooted in classic rock, punk, heavy metal, and pop. The group found mainstream success in 2022 with the release of their sophomore full-length effort, Love, Drugs & Misery. Fronted by powerhouse vocalist Amanda Lyberg (aka Eva Marie), the band also includes Rob Lyberg (guitar), Corey Newsom (drums), Chris Slapnik (guitar/vocals), and Ed Gawlik III (bass/vocals). Eva Under Fire earned a loyal fan base by pairing soaring melodies with inclusive, relatable lyrics that speak to Lyberg's background as a therapist. Anchors, the band's debut long-player, appeared in 2015, followed closely by the War EP in 2016. The three-song EP Heavy on the Heart arrived two years later. All of that hard work and sheer grit eventually caught the attention of Better Noise Music, which enthusiastically added the band to its roster and issued Love, Drugs & Misery. Released in 2022, the 12-song set included the modern rock hits "Heroin(e)" and "Blow," the latter of which featured a guest spot from Ice Nine Kills' Spencer Charnas.
