Danny Ávila
Madrid's Danny Avila spins and produces a bold, dramatic form of dance music that he calls mainstage techno. He rose to prominence during the early 2010s, when he was a teenager, and throughout his career he's played a wide range of big room dance sounds, including electro-house, trance, and trap. Some of his most successful tracks have included 2015's "Cream" (with Tujamo), 2017's "LOCO" (with NERVO and Reverie), and 2018's "Too Good to Be True" (with the Vamps and Machine Gun Kelly). After venturing into dance-pop, he began focusing on techno during the following decade, releasing tracks such as 2023's "The Procedure" (with Heerhorst) and "My Crew" (featuring Flowdan).
Originally from Marbella, Spain, Avila started DJing at the age of 12 and producing soon after. He moved to Madrid in order to become a DJ, and began spinning in the city's clubs before he was old enough to be admitted into them. His DJ skills and youthful energy caught the attention of superstar DJ Tiësto, who invited Avila to share the stage with him at Pacha Ibiza. Soon after, Avila began touring across the world with Tiësto and Calvin Harris, in addition to appearing at countless major EDM festivals. DJ Magazine included Avila's Big Room Mix CD with its September 2012 issue, making him the youngest artist to record a mix CD for the publication. He released a series of singles for labels like Big Beat Records, Spinnin' Records, and Dim Mak, as well as mixing the second disc of the 2013 double-CD Ibiza Calling. Residencies in Barcelona and Las Vegas followed, as Avila frequently produced episodes of his Ready to Jump podcast series. Successful remixes for tracks by Gavin James and Tiësto were released in 2017, as well as "LOCO," a collaboration with NERVO and Reverie.
Avila ventured into dance-pop with his 2018 singles "Too Good to Be True," featuring the Vamps and Machine Gun Kelly, and "End of the Night." Festival-ready dance tracks like "Fat Beat" (with Will Sparks), "Keep It Goin'" (with Deorro), and a remake of Chic's "Good Times" appeared in 2019. A dance cover of "Beautiful Girls" by Sean Kingston was released in 2020, and the anthemic "My Love" and "Bleeding Love" (with Ekko City) appeared the same year. Vocal-driven singles like "Hometown Heroes" and "Searchlight" followed in 2021. Avila then started a new chapter in his career, launching his Mainstage Techno Radio mix podcast and switching to a beefed-up, cinematic techno sound. Singles like "Sagrada Familia" and "Pantheon" appeared in 2022, and 2023 brought tracks like "Notre Dame," the acid-laced "The Procedure" (with Heerhorst), and a collaboration with grime MC Flowdan, "My Crew."
