Daisy the Great

Led by the theatrical, blended vocal harmonies of Kelley Nicole Dugan and Mina Walker, the folk-inflected indie pop of Daisy the Great combines vulnerability with a distinct playfulness. Their full-length debut, I'm Not Getting Any Taller, arrived in 2019. They earned their first chart placement in 2021 with "Record Player," a reworked version of an earlier song featuring AJR, which went viral. Daisy the Great's sophomore album, All You Need Is Time, appeared in late 2022, and was followed by the 2023 EP Tough Kid. New Yorker Kelley Nicole Dugan and New Orleans native Mina Walker both studied acting at Atlantic Acting School and NYU's Tisch School of the Arts before forming Daisy the Great in Brooklyn. Additional vocalist Briana Archer, guitarist Matt Lau, bass player Bernardo Ochoa, and percussionist Matti Dunietz eventually rounded out the lineup. The group made their recording debut with the EP I've Got a Few Friends and I Wish They Were Mine, which arrived on Paper Moon Records in early 2018. Their first studio album, I'm Not Getting Any Taller, was released on the same label in early 2019. The group followed its warm, bright design with the acoustic EP soft songs in May 2020. In early 2021, "The Record Player Song," a hooky track from an early EP, began trending on TikTok. They were soon approached by fellow New Yorkers AJR to collaborate on an updated version which was released later that year as "Record Player." The new version of the song made it onto six different Billboard charts and was featured along with the original on their more pop-oriented second album, All You Need Is Time, released that October by S-Curve Records. Daisy the Great returned in 2023 with Tough Kid, an EP that included a pair of sequel songs, "Glitter 2" and "Time Machine 2," the latter featuring Illuminati Hotties.
