Bumkey
Bumkey is the stage name of South Korean R&B singer Kwon Ki-bum (September 22, 1984), mostly known as a member of the hip-hop duo 2winS and R&B four-piece Troy. Hailing from Seoul, he relocated to Los Angeles with his family as a teenager before returning to South Korea in 2004 to fully devote himself to music. After landing a handful of features on songs by mainstream rap artists such as Dynamic Duo, Brown Eyes, and Epik High, he underwent vocal cord surgery and was unable to sing for almost two years. In 2010, BUMKEY made his debut with 2winS alongside MC TopBob, performing in several TV shows and radio programs. His official debut as a solo artist arrived in 2013 with the single “Bad Girl,” which featured production by Supreme Team’s Primary and E-Sens. A second single titled “Attraction” also saw the light in 2013 and reached the top of the Gaon charts. A year later, he was introduced as the leader of hip-hop outfit Troy. Preceded by the standalone single “Home,” BUMKEY’s studio debut U-Turn hit the shelves in 2016 and peaked at Number 37 in South Korea. In the following years, he contributed to the soundtrack of the South Korean TV series Suspicious Partner in 2017 and broke into the Chinese Top 200 with the single “COVID-19” featuring SUPERBEE.
