Brick + Mortar

Employing a punishing mix of punk-infused drum'n'bass and hook-driven electro-rock, Asbury Park, New Jersey's Brick + Mortar was formed around the talents of longtime friends Brandon Asraf (bass guitar, vocals) and John Tacon (drums, electronic samples, vocals). Originally devised as a drum'n'bass improvisational project, the duo eventually began experimenting with electronic samples and incorporating more traditional pop structure into their material, and by 2010 had earned the reputation as one of the region's most exciting live acts, drawing comparisons to bands like Imagine Dragons, Sleigh Bells, and Jimmy Eat World. The duo's debut EP for Island/Def Jam/Photo Finish, Bangs, was released in 2013 and their major label full-length Social Studies arrived a year later.
