Antoine Palloc

Pianist Antoine Palloc is among France's most prominent accompanists, having collaborated with an international roster of prestigious singers. He is also an important educator. Palloc was born in Nice, France, in 1969. He studied piano there with Catherine Collard, and he gravitated toward accompaniment from an early age. Palloc was largely trained in the U.S., studying with Dalton Baldwin at the Westminster Choir College in New Jersey and with Martin Katz at the University of Michigan. The list of Palloc's vocal collaborators is long and international, including Frederica von Stade, Jennifer Larmore, and Sonya Yoncheva, with whom he toured in Spain in 2019. Palloc has appeared at most of France's largest theaters and opera houses, abroad at such venues as Kennedy Center in Washington, Carnegie Hall in New York, and the Konzerthaus in Vienna, as well as performing as far afield as Hanoi, Vietnam, Rio de Janeiro, and Beijing. In 2013, Palloc became the musical director of the L'instant Lyrique recital series in Paris. Palloc has appeared as an accompanist on various recital albums, including three featuring Larmore, namely My Native Land: A Collection of American Songs (1997), In Recital (2004), and American Songs (2007). He also joined soprano Isabelle Cals on the album Mélodies autour de Modigliani (2006). In 2020, he backed soprano Melody Louledjian on the Aparté album Fleurs, featuring the music of Jean Wiener, Darius Milhaud, and other French composers. He has been heard in releases on the Opera Rara label's "Il Salotto" series and has accompanied soprano Rayanne Dupuis on a recording of Charles Ives songs on the Harmonia Mundi label. Palloc has taught at the Conservatoire de Paris and is in demand for master classes in France, the U.S., and beyond, including at the Lyric Opera Bastille, the University of Michigan, and the Seoul Opera Studio.
