Il y a quelque chose de magistral chez 070 Shake. La protégée de Kanye West a toujours su s’épanouir loin de son mentor mais n’a pas oublié de s’inspirer de son goût pour la grandiloquence. You Can’t Kill Me est un album fabuleux, fondu dans une esthétique sonore très singulière, électronique, faite de changements d’ambiance, de rythme, d’arrangement de voix. La chanteuse et productrice américaine parvient à trouver un magnifique équilibre entre incarné et désincarné, entre la force de l’interprétation et la modulation de son chant, presque inhumain par moments. A la production, on retrouve une équipe composée de Mike Dean, Dave Hamelin, Johan Lenox, J Sebastian, WondaGurl et 070 Shake elle-même qui parvient à cristalliser cet amas d’idées entre des titres ravageurs comme Come Back Home ou plus pop comme Vibrations. En featuring sur Body, on retrouve Chris(tine & The Queens) pour un titre où l’on croirait entendre des bulles de son éclater au-dessus de nos têtes, single d’un album qui a, dès sa sortie, rencontré un succès d’estime mérité.
