Rééditée en 2019 et comptant parmi les pièces les plus rares et originales de la discographie de Prince, la cassette The Versace Experience: Prelude 2 Gold était initialement destinée à être distribuée lors de la Fashion Week de Paris en juillet 1995 en vue d'entamer la promotion de l'album The Gold Experience à paraître deux mois plus tard. Composé de remixes exclusifs de titres comme "Eye Hate U", "Gold" ou "Pussy Control", du "Get Wild" du New Power Generation, d'extraits du projet Madhouse, de titres volontairement plus ou moins coupés ou marqués d'un "The Versace Experience" déclamé par Prince ("Shhh"), The Versace Experience: Prelude 2 Gold, véritable instantané d'une époque révolue, constitue une nouvelle addition originale à la collection des nombreux fans du génie de Minneapolis.
