Le roi n’est pas satisfait d’avoir déjà marqué à tout jamais la musique du XXe siècle. En 2003 sort Reflection, faisant suite à 2 précédents opus, notamment la collaboration avec Eric Clapton sur Riding With The King en 2000. Ne révolutionnant pas le genre, cet album n’en demeure pas moins bon. BB King n’a rien perdu de son toucher si singulier malgré le poids des années, et les notes de Lucille sont toujours si justes, si légères, si parfaites. Une seconde feutrées, elles se démarquent du mix d’un coup précis de médiator. Et que dire de ce vibrato… Alors âgé de 78 ans, le Blues Boy of Beale Street assied sa légende toujours un peu plus sur le trône. Sa voix mature a gagné, s’il était encore possible de le faire, en chaleur. Ce gospel jazzy bluesy rassure, réchauffe. Peut-être plus soul que les précédents albums, il dégage une sensation de sérénité, comme si tout était totalement maîtrisé.
