The leadoff single from vocalist Michael Bublé's fifth studio album To Be Loved, "It's a Beautiful Day," is a melodic '60s sunshine pop-influenced number. Co-written by Bublé with Alan Chang and Amy Foster, the song was also produced by Bob Rock. A cheerful, positive-minded, and somewhat ironic-sounding song, "It's a Beautiful Day" finds Bublé looking on the bright side of being broken up with. He sings, "The sun is up, the music's playing/And even if it started raining/You won't hear this boy complaining/'Cause I'm glad that you're the one that got away/It's a beautiful day!"
