Après cinq années d’hibernation, Belle And Sebastian donne une suite à son Write About Love de 2010. Avec Girls In Peacetime Want To Dance produit à Atlanta par Ben H. Allen III célébré pour son travail avec notamment Gnarls Barkley, Animal Collective et Raury, le groupe écossais s’est pas mal plongé dans la vieille techno de Detroit et la musique de Giorgio Moroder. Des occupations qui ont mené Belle And Sebastian sur un sentier très dance, bref assez loin de son habituelle pop folk. Une tonalité très soul qui surprendra certes les fans de la première heure du gang de Stuart Murdoch. Pourtant, les compositions sont bien là et les mélodies titillent brillamment l’ouïe. © CM/Qobuz
