Entre 1970 à 1982, Blandine Verlet réalisa de nombreux enregistrements pour le label Philips. Son époux Igor Maslowski était d'ailleurs un producteur important de la maison néerlandaise en France. Cette édition proposant l'intégralité de ce legs permet de redécouvrir des gravures méconnues, largement oubliées, en dépit de la réédition chez Philips International dans les années 1990 de certains de ces LP.
Il faudra redécouvrir en priorité les deux LP Duphly & Balbastre, d'une autorité et d'un art de la ligne soufflants. Ensuite, les deux LP Scarlatti nous conduisent au sommet de l'art de la claveciniste : ils offrent en effet une conjugaison magistralement réussie de l’équilibre et de l’imprévisible, à laquelle s’ajoute un sens étonnant de l’attente, de la suspension, de la construction dramatique. Absolument indispensable, et pas si éloigné des visions d'un Pierre Hantaï aujourd'hui.
La majeure partie de ces années Philips fut dédiée à Bach, et dans cet ensemble trônent les premières versions par la claveciniste des Variations Goldberg, Inventions et Sinfonias, et des toccatas, auxquelles on ajoute sans hésiter le Concerto italien et l'Ouverture à la française.
