When Bobby Rydell sings "all the hits" on this 1963 LP, we're not talking about his hits, but those of other entertainers. The dozen tracks range from well-known to minor hits by various pop, rock and R&B artists, from the Earls' "Remember Then" to a vocal version of the Tornadoes' "Telstar." Rydell's Vegas-inflected pop-rock style imposes a consistent sound upon the diverse fare, and consequently the results are more interesting and individualized than the typical package of cover versions. The variety of material and Rydell's talent as a vocalist make this an entertaining album for those who might enjoy hearing a handful of hits remade the Rydell way.
