Demon Head

Danish occult rockers Demon Head emerged in 2012 with a sound that combines elements of doom, goth metal, and psych-tinged classic rock. Debuting in 2015 with the dynamic and untamed Ride the Wilderness, the self-coined "diabolic rock" specialists inked a deal with Metal Blade for the release of their fourth full-length effort, 2021's atmosphere-drenched Viscera. Formed in 2012 around the talents of bassist Mikkel Fuglsang, vocalist Marcus Ferreira Larsen, drummer Jeppe Wittus, and sibling guitarists Birk Gjerlufsen Nielsen and Thor Gjerlufsen Nielsen, Demon Head released their debut album, Ride the Wilderness, in 2015. Raw, spirited, and steeped in the '70s classic rock stylings of bands like Pentagram and Witchcraft, the eight-song, analog-recorded LP was released on cassette tape before making its way into the digital realm via This Charming Man. 2017's Thunder on the Fields saw the quintet navigating the sinister side of existentialism, while 2019's Hellfire Ocean Void offered up a more fidelity-rich take on the band's signature blend of proto-metal and doomy goth rock. In 2020, Demon Head signed with Metal Blade and began work on their opulent fourth long-player. The resulting Viscera arrived the following year.
