Glen Hansard fait peut-être partie des artistes que vous avez toujours connus.... sans le savoir. Avant de débuter une carrière musicale avec les Frames en 1992, lui et sa crinière rousse et bouclée ont en en effet fait une apparition un an plus tôt dans le film d'Alan Parker "Les Commitments". Quelques années plus tard, The Frames explosent en Irlande avec "Revelate" et "Fitzcarraldo" (inspiré de l'histoire du film de Werner Herzog). Mais il faudra 10 ans à Glen Hansard pour être véritablement reconnu sur la scène internationale. En 2007, il joue dans le film "Once" avec Marketa Irglova. Le monde entier tombe sous le charme de leur histoire d'amour mêlée de musique, et le morceau “Falling Slowly” remporte le Academy Award for Best Original Song.
