Amit Mishra

Palak Muchhal became one of the most successful playback singers in Bollywood, but her legacy will likely be her substantive philanthropic endeavors. Born March 30, 1992 in Ratlam, India, Muchhal became a professional singer before she was five. Her charitable fundraising work began not long after when she was moved by the plight of destitute children, and she began performing to raise funds for a variety of causes. She released albums throughout the first decade of the 21st century including Child for Children in 2001 (she was not yet 10-years-old), and Palken, just two years later. She continued to work on album, and moved to Indore in 2006 to pursue her dream of becoming a Bollywood singer. It took some time, but she finally got her first Bollywood credit in 2011, and had her breakthrough with “Laapata” from the 2012 action thriller Ek Tha Tiger. She established herself with "Chahun Main Yaa Na" from 2013’s Aashiqui 2, and enjoyed a massive hit dueting with Mika Singh on “Jumme Ki Raat”. Another standout track came in 2019 with “Jab Se Mera Dil” from the horror thriller Amavas. Throughout, she performed charity concert, primarily to raise funds for children with hear ailments, and she became so successful in these endeavors that she was honored by Government of India and she achieved notoriety for her social work in the Guinness Book of World Records.
