L'automne sied à Gucci Mane. Trois ans presque jour pour jour après la solide mixtape Woptober, sas de décompression après l'album du grand retour Everybody Looking, voici que paraît Woptober 2, petit blockbuster de saison pour le rappeur légendaire d'Atlanta. On aime la version fast-food de Gucci Mane, quand il s'enferme deux jours avec un producteur pour accoucher d'un condensé de trap racée (El Gato : The Human Glacier avec Southside et Droptopwop avec Metro Boomin) mais on apprécie aussi quand il prend le temps de dresser la table pour un festin en compagnie de convives triés sur le volet.
Les petits jeunes DaBaby, YoungBoy Never Broke Again et Lil Baby (qui sont autant de disciples) et les valeurs sûres Kevin Gates, Quavo et Kodak Black ne se sont pas fait prier pour partager la cène avec le Trap God. Au menu : une farandole de petits tubes trap minimalistes (Came From Scratch, Move Me, Wop Longway Takeoff), un banger imparable comme plat de résistance (Richer Than Errybody, qu'on n'aurait pas mis en ouverture de l'album), des ballades tout en cuivres (Highly Recommended) ou en piano (Opps and Adversaries), une curiosité sucrée avec un sample du 2 Live Crew et un couplet salace de Megan Thee Stallion (Big Booty).
