Lala &ce excelle en bien des choses, mais elle n’a pas son pareil pour ce qui est de décrire l’amour et la sensualité comme tentation, les relations qui se referment comme des pièges blessant gravement. Solstice, deuxième album de la rappeuse-chanteuse ayant explosé avec Everything Tasteful en 2021, est, comme son autrice, à contre-courant. Elle persiste et signe superbement avec des titres nuageux et synthétiques comme No More Time. Lala habille ce Solstice d’une autre voix qui hante la tracklist, tentant de l’appâter vers les tréfonds des relations destructrices, avec toujours ce thème sexuel omniprésent dans sa discographie. Il y a quelque chose de moins instinctif dans son écriture mais de plus posé, de plus pensé, sans que cela ne dénature son identité musicale, avec cette volonté de conter des histoires et des thèmes précis, et ces doutes qui resurgissent violemment au gré de cet album principalement produit le beatmaker lyonnais Phazz (Orelsan, Koba LaD, SCH, Leto…).
